BlueCat invest in Irish plant
Dublin, January 28th 2011 Irish producer of AdBlue under the BlueCat trademark, the Brockley Group Limited have announced that the plant has substantially increased its capacity. This is to keep pace with the projected growth in demand for AdBlue as Euro VI and Tier IV legislations come into effect. It will also ensure that sufficient stocks are held in Ireland to cope with any shortfall should other importers of product suffer supply disruptions.
The project comprising three phases took place over the final six months of 2010, this involved; Additional storage capacity of AdBlue with the installation of a further three stainless steel tanks, a further di-ionising unit of the mixed resin bed variety and upgrading of the dilution unit to shorten production times.
Project engineer Pat Short was delighted with the success of the project, in particular with the improved production rates during the unseasonably cold weather.
Although growth in demand for AdBlue in Ireland is sluggish as the internal economy seeks to recover it is clear that legislation and technological developments will ultimately drive the requirement for the increased capacity. Nicky Holmes marketing director commented that the improved efficiency of the facility would help contain the effects caused by the escalating costs of urea and that this was also a primary factor in the decision to upgrade the facility at this time. ‘BlueCat policy is to ensure that there is both sufficient AdBlue production capacities to cope with Irish demand and to offer alternatives to importers of the product. |
