Official launch of Bluecat Adblue

Minister for Transport, Noel Dempsey TD, to officially launch anti pollutant “BlueCat AdBlue” on April 18th in Dublin

Dublin, April 3rd 2008 The Brockley Group is delighted to announce that Minister for Transport, Noel Dempsey TD will officially launch BlueCat AdBlue on Friday, April 18th at 3pm in Browns Barn, City West Bridge, Dublin. BlueCat AdBlue, which meets DIN70070 standards is a crucial anti-pollutant for freight companies and hauliers using SCR technology engines and who wish to meet the EU emissions measures Euro 4. BlueCat also meets the newer emissions targets for the forthcoming Euro 5.

Brockley Group, one of Ireland's leading suppliers of ingredients to industry, is the first Irish producer of AdBlue, which is an essential anti-pollutant for all trucks using an SCR system. SCR systems using AdBlue are currently fitted to many trucks and buses manufactured by Mercedes Benz, Volvo Trucks, DAF Trucks and Iveco.

Brockley is manfacturing BlueCat in its state of the art facility in Rathcoole. Nicky Holmes marketing director at Brockley said the new facility will solve the chronic shortage of anti pollutant AdBlue in Ireland. “The new facility means that Irish hauliers and freight companies can now have security of supply. We have an agreement with one of the only three European producers SKW for the raw materials. We’re delighted that Minister Dempsey has agreed to launch this important product, and we look forward to welcoming him at our production facility on April 18th."

He added that the new facility would ensure that no pollutants enter the process and BlueCat meets manufacturing quality control for AUS32 solutions DIN standard 70070. "Many hauliers have found to their expense that using non compatible or low grade material can reduce life expectancy of a truck to less than 200,000km and many systems have failed prematurely. Our production of Blue Cat will eliminate that risk."

The Irish production also means that companies can be guaranteed next day delivery as well as the most cost effective product. "We have been able to keep costs well down as manufacturing in Ireland means we have far less transport costs than those who are importing from Europe."

BlueCat is available in sizes to suit the largest and smallest firms from bulk delivery, through IBCs (1,000 litre), 200 litre drums and 10 litre cans.

Notes to Editors:
AdBlue is a registered trademark for the VDA and is otherwise known as AUS32 (Aqueous Urea Solution 32.5%). It is a solution of high purity urea in demineralised water (32.5%) used as a supplementary operating fluid (reducing agent) in diesel-powered vehicles using selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to improve exhaust emissions.
The high purity urea prill for BlueCat AdBlue is produced in Europe by SKW Piesteritz.
AUS32 is carried onboard the vehicle in a tank separate to the fuel system, and is sprayed into engine exhaust gases in a special catalytic converter.
It is a thus a common misconception that AUS32 is a fuel additive, whereas in actual fact it remains totally separate from the fuel system. When properly circulated into the exhaust gases of an SCR-equipped vehicle, the oxides of nitrogen formed by combustion of diesel fuel are converted by a chemical reaction into their basic and non-polluting forms, nitrogen and water. A typical SCR system uses an amount of AUS32 equivalent to approximately 3 to 5% of the vehicle's fuel consumption.
