Legislative Overview

 

In October 2006 new legislation (Euro IV) governing the release of exhaust gases from diesel powered engines came into effect. This was quickly followed by more stringent legislation (Euro V) earlier than it’s due implementation date of October 2009

The legislation impacted on all vehicles over 7.5 tonne capacity calling for significant reductions on the levels of Carbon monoxides, Nitrogen oxide & Particulate Matter emitted from such vehicles.

In September 2014 the emission limits were further tightened with the introduction of Euro VI legislation
